Marine Surveys by Jay Michaud Marine Surveyor Captain Jay Michaud knows boats.

He is a graduate of the renowned Chapman School of Seamanship, Marine Surveyor Program. Studying under Charles V. Corder Jr., a recognized leader in the province of marine surveys.

He is a member of American Boat & Yacht Council and the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors with Accredited Marine Surveyor® status.

Jay has over fifty years of ocean experience, including a round-the-world cruise with his parents. For over twenty-five of those years he has been an active participant in the New England lobster fishery, logging over 1500 hours of sea time annually.

Marine Surveys by Jay Michaud Marine Surveyor He has a natural understanding of the forces which act on a vessel's hull and structure. He knows how to find hidden flaws which sometimes go unnoticed, but may cause serious problems if not discovered in time. In addition to yacht and commercial fishing vessel surveys, Jay is especially qualified to survey lobster and trawler yachts.

Jay presently owns and operates a 42' Provincial lobster boat, a 22' Aquasport sportfishing boat, and his wife, Susan, owns and operates a 31' JC lobster boat. Both Jay and Susan hold US Coast Guard, 100 Ton Near Coastal Licenses, and are both holders of Massachusetts Coastal Fishing Licenses.
